INTELECOM and Insight Media Create Education-Friendly Mobile Platform

Along with an increased demand for students to learn Web programming tools like coding, there is another revolution underway that educational systems are keen on integrating into students’ learning processes, and it lies in the palms of our hands; more specifically, our beloved mobile devices.

In effort to aid this mobile educational growth, INTELECOM Intelligent Telecommunications has partnered with Insight Media to create new video streaming collections for colleges, universities and students pursuing a nursing career. The subscription to the program will include a collection of 450 full-length clips, all of which are mobile-friendly H.264 videos.

INTELECOM is a not-for-profit organization that offers teachers and students digital technology in the form of education. With the help of Insight Media, a provider of academic visual materials, it has been able to create an online mLearning platform for nurse education that can be accessed 24/7. This type of e-Learning can provide teachers and students with more opportunities to advance in their studies, and with a mobile platform, even more chances to continue learning when they are not in a school environment.

The nursing collection has a faculty search interface, MARC records, closed captions, embeddable URLs and video players and LMS/CMS compatibility. It also comes with more than 4,000 topic-specific video lessons in more than 35 disciplines, and keyword search integrations with both Blackboard and SoftChalk.

To help schools integrate such mobility features into their networks and avoid overloading the IT department, Sprint and Manage Mobile have joined forces to create a cloud-based technology solution designed for educational systems.

The Wireless Campus Manager is a complete mLearning infrastructure solution that equips K-12 schools teachers with tools from the mobile world to provide a higher level of technological education for their students. It manages wireless costs and mobile polices for schools, and provide a learning portal for teachers and students with its Learning Management software (LMS), a vital function in delivering digital content.

As companies like INTELECOM and Insight Media begin to expand its mobile reach into the educational system, educators, students and professionals alike are beginning to see just how important it is for our generation to be equipped with the opportunities that technology, and mobility, has brought forth.
