Clear2there Pairs Up with Biosign to Expand its M2M Service Portfolio

Clear2there has recently expanded to become a cloud provider through a partnership with Viewbiquity LLC. The Clear2there cloud focuses on open architecture M2M connectivity using three Viewbiquity solutions: Viewbiquity Application Server, Viewbiquity Client and Viewbiquity Cloud.

Now, Clear2there has leveraged its cloud to venture into the healthcare M2M market. The company has just announced a partnership with Biosign, the company that manufactures the FDA-approved Pulsewave device.

Pulsewave monitors both pulse and blood pressure for patients while they are away from the doctor’s office. The patient attaches the inflatable Pulsewave cuff to his or her wrist to capture the pulse waveform from his or her radial artery. Until now, the Pulsewave could communicate only with an Internet-connected Windows PC.

Biosign algorithms then analyze the pulse and divide different pieces of information from the wave to read a patient’s vital signs. The device can capture blood pressure, pulse and even respiration readings, all from the inflatable cuff.

Instead of transmitting through the linked PC, the Pulsewave now connects to the Viewbiquity Edge Gateway. The gateway provides connectivity to the Biosign services platform, where patients, family members and doctors can monitor a patient’s Pulsewave data.

Clear2there is kicking off the partnership with over 65 Viewbiquity pilot programs in the U.S. “In our conversations with many local service providers, we have observed a sharp increase in demand for smart health monitoring and other telemedicine services that enable people to remain in their homes as they age,” said Craig Steen, president and CEO of Clear2there.

“Biosign’s Pulsewav product is a highly recognized vital signs measurement solution that is very easy to use by both seniors and people with disabilities.”

For adults who can’t always be with their elderly parents, the Viewbiquity-Pulsewave partnership provides them with tools to monitor important vital signs from any location. Steen hopes that the M2M communication, once perfected, will give local service providers a unique solution for smart healthcare and monitoring.
