EMC Select Program Now Selling TeraMedica's Evercore Clinical Enterprise Suite

TeraMedica focuses on helping hospitals and healthcare systems with unrestricted medical image management.

The company’s Evercore Clinical Enterprise Suite is now available through the EMC Select Program. EMC Select offers third-party solutions that help organizations to complete their hardware, software or services with valuable add-ons.

The Evercore suite consists of modules that assist healthcare organizations to connect imaging devices and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) with patient electronic medical records and physicians’ desktop computers.

Available modules include Smartstore, Univision, Remote and Data Controller. Each module is vendor-neutral, meaning that its open, Java-based system doesn’t depend on any proprietary service or storage technology.

Smartstore delivers a single data storage and management infrastructure that can be used across multiple clinics or multiple departments. The module provides secure access for HIPAA-compliant security and maintains a master patient index (MPI) to coordinate multiple patient IDs.

Univision embeds a Web-based image viewer into any EMR so that physicians have a one-stop portal for viewing patient records. Doctors do not have learn logins for multiple systems or learn to navigate different image viewers. Also, the Univision viewer delivers access material whether it follows the Digital Images and Communication in Medicine (DICOM) standard or not.

Remote, or Health Imaging Exchange, is a mega-solution connecting patient imaging data across integrated delivery networks, states or even countries. The module directly connects PACS and EMRs with MPIs and health information exchanges.

Evercore Data Migration eliminates the need for traditional data migrations by consolidating siloed clinical content under a single institutional infrastructure. Data moves across an open architecture for the healthcare provider, enabling vendor independence for more control over data.

“The EMC and TeraMedica clinical enterprise imaging solution allows healthcare systems to improve clinical workflows,” said Scott Filion, who is general manager of EMC Healthcare.

“Together, EMC and TeraMedica provide additional user benefits, such as disaster recovery, reduced repeat procedures and direct access to clinical content through an EMR, and more.”
