Endomondo, a fitness app that focuses on bringing technology and social networking together for fitness enthusiasts, joined The Coca-Cola Company recently to celebrate their strategic alliance.
This recent collaboration hopes to bring fitness-minded comminutes around the word together with a new app. Through the agreement, Coca-Cola, through its Powerade brand, will help Endomondo expand its user base, develop the app further, excite innovation and enter into new markets.
“We were immediately attracted to the dynamic team at Endomondo and their vision and commitment to creating a world where everybody exercises,” said Emmanuel Seuge, head of Worldwide Sports and Entertainment Marketing, The Coca-Cola Company. “We believe in the power of Endomondo’s vision, application and most importantly – its people.”
A new feature that has been added to the app is the Powerade hydration feature, which keeps users aware of how much they need to drink to keep hydrated during and after a workout. Not only has proper hydration proven to be beneficial physically, but it also helps athletes mentally. This new feature promotes healthy physical activity and the general well-being of users.
“Through the innovation and network of Endomondo, we have an incredible opportunity to continue to establish Powerade as a true sports brand,” explained Seuge. “The application will allow sports men and women from around the world to motivate and compete with each other while they strengthen and condition to become better all-round athletes.”
Endomondo also joins Music Dealers and Spotify in Coca-Cola’s portfolio as the company’s first sports related project. Similar to Music Dealers and Spotify, Coca-Cola is using its global reach and scale to leverage Endomondos success. To celebrate the new venture, Endomondo is launching the Powerade Challenge, where the more you work out, the better chance you have to be selected as a winner.
