Vivum Care Group Announces Assured Service Continuity

For the healthcare industry, having a consistent, reliable disaster recovery system is crucial, as more than just convenience relies on it functioning properly. Vivium Care Group has decided to replace their former system, which they found neither consistent nor reliable with VirtualSharp software, largely considered to be the leading provider of next-generation automated disaster recovery solutions for both public and private clouds.

This venture to modernize the disaster recovery system that Vivium currently has is one that both Vivium Care Group and VirtualSharp are excited to announce.

Vivium Care Group IT Manager, Wilfred Groeneveld finds that a change was necessary, citing the fact that they did not have “certainty” that critical applications “would actually function” – with the new system, he says that they “have that certainty.” In the healthcare world, not having a reliable system can have disastrous consequences, making this a much-needed change for Vivium.

Systems store information regarding allergies, immunization and other critical information, making it tremendously important that systems continue to function properly, even when there is a disaster. Besides the information that is of life-and-death importance, there are many other important pieces of information stored in Electronic Health Records, including: billing, medical history, weight, age and radiology images.

Not being able to rely on a disaster recovery system can be its own disaster for healthcare providers.

ICT Service Delivery Manager at Vivium Care Group, Martin Bloem, is enthusiastic: "VirtualSharp verifies that the servers and applications are operational, and reports what the total time of the Disaster Recovery process would be. In case of an emergency, we can now bring back production systems with the simple push of a button."

Vivium’s decision is one that will no doubt be as applauded as it is much needed. Together, Vivium and VirtualSharp can work toward a stable, reliable future for patients.
