TigerText Introduces TT2, Adds University to Roster

TigerText offers a secure means of communication for health care professionals. Patients’ information is always confidential, so healthcare facilities need a way to quickly share information or request help without risking a breach of privacy.  The original TigerText application provides a private, encrypted network to professionals that follow HIPAA compliances. It is accessed directly through healthcare workers’ smartphones.

The program, intended for small and medium-sized businesses, recently added 30 new clients to its roster before unveiling its latest version, TT2. The TT2 offers enhanced features that are unavailable on the original version. The application sends confidential information in real time to others on the network. This means that doctors, nurses and other professionals can share information or directions with others in the facility without leaving the patients’ sides. Ultimately this means more face time with patients.

When looking at TT2 the biggest feature to note is that information is sent at the speed of an instant messenger. The program cannot be accessed without the secure pin code for patients’ privacy. If the worker’s phone is lost or stolen, all information can be “wiped” from the phone from a computer or new phone. Other features include a scheduling option to view who is working or plan who will work in the future and tracking for audits. Image sharing and directory access is also available.

The University of Louisville is the latest company to invest in the application, and is the first university to join the company’s mission to improve healthcare communication.

"TigerText has dramatically helped my workflow. It has allowed me to efficiently and safely transmit and receive protected information in a very easy way," says Dr. Belinda Setters, University of Louisville's director of geriatric medicine and hospital services, via press release. "This allows me to spend more time talking with patients without having to step out of a room to answer a call or take a page."

Unlike the original application, the TT2 can be used on any smartphone, tablet, PC or Mac.
