New York Downtown Hospital & Specialists on Call Team Up To Provide Round The Clock Telestroke and Teleneurology Service

In a bid to offer the NewYorkers 24/7/365 access to neurologists, the well known provider of emergency telemedicine consultations, Specialists On Call teamed up with New York Downtown Hospital, a community hospital serving over 600,000 New Yorkers living and working in Lower Manhattan. The initiative is a part of SOC’s ongoing expansion process.

Under the partnership, the New Yorkers will get to enjoy immediate, around-the-clock access to board certified neurologists for any neurologic emergency. This emergency neurology on-call services can be available throughout the state of New York, SOC mentioned in a press release.

It should be mentioned that SOC already provides teleneurology services to hospitals in many other states. Since its inception, the company claimed to have conducted more than 33,000 consultations via telemedicine. SOC has curved a niche in the telemedicine industry for its reliability and performance and also earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval.

In many emergencies, especially in acute strokes, a timely and proper medical intervention can have a remarkable impact upon the patient’s recovery and dramatically improve outcomes for patients and their families. In a statement, CEO of SOC Dr. Joe Peterson said that Downtown Hospital shares SOC’s point of view that that everyone should have access to top flight medical care regardless of their location or the time of day. “We’re thrilled to be working with New York Downtown Hospital and proud to expand emergency neurology coverage in New York City and throughout the state,” Peterson commented in the statement.

Last month Specialists On Call announced that its growing roster of California hospitals represents the state's largest private telestroke and teleneurology network.
