Medtech Deals Remain Attractive to VCs and Business-Development Execs at Elsevier Business Intelligence's 'IN3 West'
LAS VEGAS, NV, Mar 09, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
Elsevier Business Intelligence, the medtech industry's leading
strategic partner and investment conference organizer, hosted 'IN3
West' on March 4-5, 2010, at The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino, Las
Vegas. This annual event followed 'Medical Device Investor Day', also
held at The Venetian, on March 3rd, 2010.
The IN3 West conference included 12 sponsors and was attended by
nearly 200 registered guests -- including venture capitalists and
medtech business-development executives who learned about the latest
innovations and investment opportunities from 40 emerging medical
technology companies seeking funding and/or strategic partnerships.
"Dealmaking still remains a challenge, which is why forums such as
IN3 are absolutely essential to figuring out the keys to successful
funding," said David Cassak, Managing Director, Elsevier Business
Intelligence.
"This conference afforded me the opportunity to meet not only with
some of the major multinational companies but also several
industry-savvy investors whom I would not likely have been able to
meet otherwise," said Joseph W. Reilly, President and CEO of Soft
Tissue Regeneration, one of the presenting companies. "This was my
second IN3 event, and I am very impressed with the value that IN3
meetings offer emerging companies for the opportunity to get in front
of top-shelf investors."
"Medmarc has been a proud sponsor of IN3 since its inception. We,
with our strategic alliance partner, The Hartford, find that it is a
good way to keep abreast of emerging technology. IN3 provides an
excellent forum to stay in contact with existing customers as well as
to develop prospective customers," added Tom Konopka, Senior Vice
President of Business Development and Marketing for Medmarc
Insurance.
Upcoming IN3 events in 2010 include: April 29-30: 'IN3 Europe',
Paris, "Bridging European and U.S. Medical Device Innovators,
Investors and Companies" (Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel); June 9-11:
'IN3 East', Boston, "Investment In Innovation (IN3) East + Investor
Day -- The Largest East Coast Strategic Partnership and Investment
Meeting for Medical Technology Executives" (The Westin Copley Place);
Oct. 27-29: 'IN3 Summit', San Francisco, "Investment In Innovation
(In3) Summit + Investor Day: The Largest Investment & Partnering
Event for Medical Technology Leaders" (Grand Hyat).
