VBrick Unveils Integrated Suite of H.264 Solutions for Enterprise Class High Definition Video Streaming
WALLINGFORD, CT, Jan 25, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
VBrick today unveiled an integrated suite of H.264-specific products
to power the full spectrum of creation, delivery and consumption of
live or on-demand IP video streaming for enterprise customers, making
H.264 video content available both inside and outside the firewall to
upwards of 100,000 viewers simultaneously.
The H.264 product suite features VBrick's next generation Networked
Video Appliance, which is built on a completely redesigned
architecture and supports both standard and high definition video
delivery with maximum bandwidth optimization. Other components of
the suite include a new Set Top Box (STB), hardware decoder that
provides "always on" H.264 decoding, 11-slot Rack Mount shelf, as
well as significant enhancements to VBrick's Enterprise Media System
(VEMS). Finally, the suite includes H.264-based FLASH(TM) video
delivery in the VBrick Online Streaming Service (VBOSS).
Today's announcement confirms that only VBrick can deliver both live
and stored rich media to a virtually unlimited number of concurrent
users across corporate, education and government customers. And the
H.264 encoding and distribution process is managed with the VBrick
Enterprise Media System (VEMS) which uses advanced bandwidth
optimization to intelligently route users to the best location to
receive video content, without impacting the performance of other
networked applications.
The Networked Video Appliance, available in both an industrial or
enterprise version to meet the specific video delivery needs of any
sized organization, significantly expands VBrick's reputation for
technology innovation with the industry's most reliable, flexible and
manageable networked video appliance. The 15-model solution allows
customers to deliver video in a wide range of quality (from 3G to HD)
over any network infrastructure with vastly improved quality and
bandwidth utilization. With advanced encoding, multicasting, serving,
display and remote management features, the Networked Video Appliance
cements VBrick's reputation as an H.264 pioneer.
VBrick's new Set Top Box (STB) is an ideal decoder for cost sensitive
installations that require large-scale deployment to plasma and other
flat screen displays. The easy-to-use STB, which is compatible with
VBrick's Video On Demand server and Network Video Recorder, can be
controlled via an infrared remote and be configured for interactive
or standalone use. The STB supports H.264 content to ensure any
viewer can experience both high definition and standard definition
video consumption. In keeping with VBrick's vision for engineering
complete, end-to-end video solutions, the STB is fully integrated
with VEMS, providing a rich viewing experience for both live and
stored content -- either scheduled or on-demand.
VBrick's new 11-slot Rack Mount Shelf is a fully redundant system
whose operation is never impacted by power supply or fan failure. The
shelf's modules can be swapped while the system is still running to
ensure non-stop performance. Moreover, a variety of blade options
provide maximum flexibility for different I/O and video resolutions.
The shelf is compactly designed with all I/O accessible from the
front, with comprehensive cable management and mounting features
included.
"The launch of our new H.264 products is another in a series of
innovative product announcements we've made in the past year to
establish VBrick as the only complete, end-to-end Enterprise IP video
streaming provider on the market," said Doug Howard, Chief Executive
Officer, VBrick. "Now our customers can take full advantage of the
incredible performance and quality associated with the H.264 standard
with breakout technology that is fast, simple to manage and highly
secure."
