Jabra Launches Revolutionary New Office Headsets With Intuitive Touch Screen and Multiuse Capabilities

NASHUA, N.H., Oct 21, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- GN Netcom, the world leader in innovative headset solutions, today announced the launch of the Jabra GO(TM) 6400 and Jabra PRO(TM) 9400 Series, the first Bluetooth and DECT headset solutions, respectively, to feature an industry first touch screen base, making call management more intuitive. The headsets are the first to offer true triple connectivity, allowing mobile-centric and office-centric workers to manage calls seamlessly from their computer telephony (softphone), desk and mobile phones. Both office headsets are now officially available from all Jabra contact center and office partners via www.jabra.com.

(Photo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20091021/NE95880 ) With the Jabra PRO 9400 and Jabra GO 6400, users can easily manage multiple phones using the intuitive touch screen, start or end calls, adjust the volume, or switch between desk, soft and mobile phones all from one device. Key workforce trends show that employees are commonly away from their desk or out of the office often missing important calls, leading many to cite best-in-class headsets as critical to driving increased productivity. The Jabra PRO and Jabra GO Series feature "always on" connectivity, which increases workforce productivity by saving a minimum of ten minutes per day, ensuring a return on investment within three months. To reduce power consumption and CO(2) emissions, the screen display is automatically dimmed during periods of inactivity. In addition, the headsets feature improved ergonomics, which include lightweight and allergy tested materials for all day comfort and allowing users to choose between three wearing styles - headband, neckband and ear hook.

"The workforce is becoming increasingly more mobile, which, in turn, influences the demand for communications devices with high usability like the Jabra PRO and Jabra GO Series," said Jerry Mayo, President, GN Netcom. "Now employees, regardless of whether they are in the office or working remotely, can manage calls from their computer, desk and mobile phones seamlessly with maximized productivity." The Jabra PRO 9400 and Jabra GO 6400 combine the sound, range and quality performance of a professional office headset with the flexibility of mobile headsets, offering the ease of using a single device for several Unified Communications (UC) solutions. The streamlined user experience ultimately leads to fewer missed calls and increased productivity. The Jabra PRO and Jabra GO Series also deliver a clearer, more natural audio experience via wideband sound transmission and Noise Blackout(TM) technology, a dual microphone technology that eliminates virtually all background noise.

Both the Jabra PRO 9400 and Jabra GO 6400 Series are compatible with Unified Communications (UC) solutions from leading vendors such as Microsoft and Cisco and feature a SmartSetup wizard on the touch screen to guide users through the simplified process of connecting phones and choosing preferences. The user-friendly touch screen controls incorporate Bluetooth, DECT and USB phone technology. The clear resolution and colorful icons of the touch screen allow users to easily manage calls at a glance. For those who have not transitioned to UC, the headsets can be used with both traditional and VoIP telephony systems.

Additionally, Fontel Inc., a wholesale distributor of voice and data communications products and GN Netcom partner, recently received a "Best of Show Award" for the Jabra PRO(TM) 9470 in the Best Consumer Offering category at Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC(R))'s ITEXPO West 2009 in Los Angeles.

The Jabra GO 6400 and Jabra PRO 9400 Series are currently available with suggested retail prices starting at $199 from GN Netcom partners in North America and additional information can be found at www.jabra.com/StayInTouch .

In addition to the launch of the Jabra PRO and Jabra GO Series, GN Netcom will also release the Jabra STONE this fall. Aimed at the mobile market, the Jabra STONE is set to break the mold of the traditional mobile Bluetooth(R) headset with a revolutionary new shape and industry leading technology.
