AeroScout, a well known provider of Unified Asset Visibility solutions, announced that Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP ) in the UK have implemented AeroScout's RTLS (Real-Time Location System).

Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) provides dedicated mental health services to adults in Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Swindon. AeroScout's RTLS will help the NHS trust to effectively monitor the location of the staff members using its existing Wi-Fi network. The solution that includes AeroScout's MobileView software and Wi-Fi Tags has been implemented by Stoneleigh Consultancy Ltd , UK's leading IT consulting and wireless specialist firm. The solution is expected to enable AWP to effectively monitor the location of staff members.

The solution will allow the organization to streamline the process for checking in and out of its facility. Upon arrival, each staff member checks in and receives a Wi-Fi RFID Tag that attaches to a set of physical keys. The tag is triggered as it passes through different hospital zones and transmits a message to AeroScout's MobileView software, which then displays the location of each person in real time.

AWP has already been using AeroScout Patient & Staff Safety solution at its Secure Forensic Mental Health Service to improve operational efficiency and staff safety.

“As a provider of specialized mental health services, we are focused on giving the highest quality of care while at the same time ensuring a safe environment for both our staff and patients. Prior to using AeroScout, we relied on a whiteboard to manually track the whereabouts of our staff members, and we had little insight into their location. Since we started using AeroScout, we have improved the safety and confidence of our staff through the ability to identify exactly where they are at any one time,” Steve Batson, service manager for West of England Forensic Mental Health Services at AWP noted in a statement.

In 2010, Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (HIAE) implemented AeroScout's Asset Tracking and Temperature Monitoring solutions as part of the hospital's ongoing commitment to regional and global leadership in healthcare excellence.
