New CBCE Oncology-Focused CME Application for the iPad Released

The Center for Biomedical Continuing Education, a premier provider of accredited, oncology-specific continuing medical education, has introduced a new CBCE oncology-focused CME application for the iPad.

The newly announced CBCE Oncology CME app is a smart, convenient CME option for busy healthcare professionals, offering them fully-accredited treatment updates, conference highlights, and CME activities in convenient formats: audio, video, and text. Coverage of both solid tumors and hematologic malignancies is included in the content.

"The CBCE is pleased to offer this application to the oncology community," said Shawn Whalen Shinn, senior vice president of the CBCE, in a press release.

The app is now available for immediate download from the Apple App Store, free of charge.

"The CBCE app makes excellent use of the possibilities offered by the iPad platform,” said Axel Grothey, professor of oncology in the Division of Medical Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. “The app is very clean and has an intuitive user interface. It provides a comprehensive compilation of CME activities with multimedia capabilities."

Drawing from select CME content found on www.thecbce.com, this continually updated application offers live local, regional, and national medical education activity listings with GPS capabilities. It focuses on tumor-specific content for more personalized education and features keyword searches to find the exact CME content needed, as well as features automatic alerts each time a new program is available.

Other features include a free, oncology-focused CME/CE 24/7, scrolling news ticker featuring award-winning HealthDay professional news.
