Minmax Power Intros MKW10M Series of Compact DC/DC Converters for Medical Instrumentation

Power conversion specialists at Minmax recently expanded their offering with the introduction of MKW10M Series 10-watt medical grade DC/DC Converters.

A specialist in the design and manufacturing of low- to middle-power DC/DC converters and AC/DC power modules, Minmax said that the 10-watt, high-performance, medical grade converter has been designed for the space-saving, performance-demanding applications in industrial and medical instrumentation.

Approved to UL/CSA/EN/IEC60601-1 3rd Edition standards, this 2xMOOP rated solution is ideal for the medical grade applications requiring compliance to the latest medical safety standards.

MKW10M Series comes in a 2”x1” shielded metal package along with reinforced 4200VAC I/O-isolation, and makes a cost-effective solution for the electronic equipment in medical sector.

According to the company’s website, all Minmax DC/DC power modules use high-quality, 100 percent RoHS compliant materials and are manufactured to Minmax’s rigorous ISO-9001 quality standards to ensure high product reliability. MKW10M Series creates an extra layer of protection with an impressive 2:1 input range of 12VDC, 24VDC and 48VDC.

In addition, single and dual outputs are available with comprehensive protection circuitry.   High efficiency ratings, up to 82 percent, allow for an operating temperature range of -40ºC to +75ºC, according to technical specification.

The products are priced at less than $29 for OEM quantities, with a three-year warranty.

A few months ago, Minmax Power released the MKW40 series of 40 Watt DC/DC power modules. This series is EMC compliant to EN55022 Class A and has international safety approvals, making it ideally suited for worldwide use in space-critical applications in a variety of equipment, including battery-powered.
