OSEHRA Announces 1,000th Member

OSEHRA recently surpassed 1,000 authenticated users. The 1,000th registered user was Keith Curley, Principal Partner of Western Reserve Systems Group, LLC (WRSG) of Hudson, Ohio.

OSEHRA is a not-for-profit which strives to improve effort of innovation to electronic health record software and related technology. The company promotes an open, collaborative community of users, developers and researchers who work on electronic health record software and other health information technology.

The organization also provides software repositories for applications such as the Department of Veterans Affairs’ VistA electronic health record.

Founded in 1999, WRSG offers interface customization, systems integration and scalable application implementation of cloud-based Internet, mobile, database, network and security management systems for clients nationwide.

WRSG has introduced its services in health data management and health informatics in the past few years, the company stated in a news release.

“We are excited to work with companies like WRSG to accelerate the pace and volume of open source EHR innovation” said Dr. Seong Ki Mun, president and CEO at OSEHRA. “As we work to refine best practices in open source EHR development, lessons learned from innovators like WRSG will be invaluable.”

Recently, TMC’s Oliver VanDervoort reported that DSS, Inc. signed a partnership with OSEHRA. Apart from working with several industry innovators in order to come up with a common and open source model of the VistA program, DSS will also support OSEHRA’s code convergence project. OSEHRA and DSS believe they will be able to operate across the department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense (DoD) and a myriad of commercial hospitals once this open source model of VistA is up and running.
