Independa to Launch Artemis to Provide Integrated Health, Safety and Activity Monitoring for the Independent Elderly

Independa, Inc has made one more addition to its integrated telecare suite for the independent elderly and their professional or family caregivers. The company recently announced that it will be giving a demo of the Independa Artemis platform of health, safety and activity sensors at the 2011 mHealth Summit in National Harbor, Md.

Independa has plans to launch Artemis during the early part of next year. This platform will complement and also be fully integrated with Independa's Caregiver Web App and Angela which is the touchscreen-based, in-residence social engagement platform.

In a release, Independa CEO Kian Saneii said, "Independa Artemis, in conjunction with our other cloud-based integrated telecare offerings, delivers on our vision of providing Independa customers and channel partners the most integrated solution for supported independence. Artemis is designed to deliver the next level of home monitoring, versus traditional methods and technologies. It will seamlessly integrate health, safety and activity information to provide virtual caregivers unprecedented visibility across multiple aspects of health and well-being."

The Artemis platform via a wireless hub to Independa's cloud solution will connect sensors to monitor vital signs, safety and home conditions. Care providers will now be able to remotely use the Caregiver Web App to keep track of their care recipients' well-being, while recipients will be able to interact using Angela.

The new monitoring platform will expand caregivers' ability to help the elderly continue living healthy, safe, rewarding lives in their own residences through simple, cost-effective virtual care. Knowing how their patients or loved ones are doing in real time enables remote caregivers to serve more care recipients, gain critical peace of mind, and intervene if necessary.

Independa also announced a partnership with Boston Life Labs LLC which will further strengthen its suite. Independa will also being including in Artemis, the Boston Life Labs Smart Medical Home Hbox Hub and some more plug-and-play wireless telehealth sensors.

Boston Life Labs CEO Richard Binier said, "Boston Life Labs is excited to enable and support Independa's Artemis offering. We believe that this combination of innovative technical efforts will provide significant value to the older adult population in the home environment."
